How the Hidden Picture Works

Each bracelet carries a miniature lens set into its charm or bead. Look through the lens towards a light source and your photo appears in sharp detail; shine a phone torch through it and the image projects onto a wall. From the outside it reads as an ordinary bracelet — the picture stays your secret until you show it.

The image is reproduced at microscopic scale inside the stone, too small to see until the domed lens magnifies it. It is sealed in rather than printed on the outside, so it does not rub away with normal wear.

About half do not name a metal on the product page at all. The rest list stainless steel, copper, alloy, brass or a leather cord. The exact metal for a given design is listed on its product page — if it is not stated there, ask us before ordering.

That mix does not touch the part that matters: the lens and the sealed image are the same whatever the band is made from, so the plainest braided design carries the same picture as the dressiest charm here. Stainless steel is the most water-tolerant of the group; copper and brass darken over time. The Photo Makes the Bracelet

At this scale the photo does more work than the design. A clear, close-up shot with good light gives the most striking projection; busy backgrounds, dim rooms and distant group shots lose detail at the size of a lens. One or two faces filling the frame works best. Crop tightly before uploading and pick a picture lit from the front — backlit shots and heavy filters flatten the contrast.

You upload the picture on the product page itself, then zoom, rotate and crop it in the on-page editor, so you can see the framing before the bracelet goes in the cart. Every photo is checked by a person before production, and we come back to you if the file is too small or soft to reproduce well.

The image is sealed inside the lens, so normal wear will not rub it away. The lens is still glass-like, so take the bracelet off for showers, swimming, the gym and anything sandy: chlorine and salt dull the metal, and grit scratches a lens and turns a crisp picture cloudy. Store it away from other jewellery and use a dry microfibre cloth rather than polishing dips.
