A locket only works if it opens on something worth keeping. This one is a full rounded heart, 28 mm across, and inside it holds two heart-shaped photos side by side - room for both halves of a pair, or the same person at two ages, instead of making you choose one.
The front carries a raised rose: one open bloom with a bud beside it, growing from a single stem down toward the point of the heart. It is worked in the metal itself rather than printed or enameled, so it catches light along the petal edges and keeps its detail with wear. Turn it over and the whole back is a single piece of white mother of pearl - pearly white with faint warm yellow and pink shifting through it, the way shell does.

No. The image is permanently encased inside the gemstone — water, sweat, and daily wear will not affect it. As with all fine jewelry we recommend removing before showering or swimming as a general care practice.
